A gift card is not always the right gift for you. It might be for a shop you rarely visit, a spa experience you cannot schedule, a hotel stay after your plans have changed or a subscription you no longer need. Even a valuable voucher can go unused if it does not fit your plans.
Selling a valid, transferable gift card gives you an opportunity to recover part of its value instead of letting it expire. A buyer, meanwhile, may be able to use it for a planned purchase or experience at a price below its face value. Listing it before the expiry date leaves more time for a buyer to use it. A sale, a particular price or a quick result is not guaranteed.

How to sell unused gift cards
Kuponex is a person-to-person listings marketplace, not a company that buys gift cards directly. Listing is free. You set the price and negotiate payment and other details with the buyer.

Upload a photo or file of the voucher and add the brand or service, face value, expiry date, asking price and any important restrictions.

Answer questions and agree on the price and payment method in Kuponex messages.

Confirm the sale
Once the payment has actually reached your account, mark the listing as “Sold”. The system then reveals the voucher details to the buyer.

Does Kuponex buy gift cards directly?
No. Kuponex is not a gift card buyback service. It helps sellers publish listings and connect with individual buyers.
Is it free to sell a gift card?
Yes. At present, creating a listing and selling on Kuponex are free. You choose the asking price.
When should I sell an unwanted gift card?
If you already know you will not use it, consider listing it while it is still valid and leaves enough time for the buyer to redeem it. Kuponex accepts vouchers valid for at least 20 more days. Make sure the card can legally and contractually be transferred.
How do payments work?
Buyer and seller arrange payment directly. Kuponex does not currently hold funds or guarantee transactions. The buyer receives the gift card details after the seller marks it as sold, so confirm that the money has reached your account first.
What gift cards and vouchers can you sell?
You can list valid, transferable gift cards and vouchers for shops, restaurants, spas, hotels, leisure activities and subscriptions, provided the issuer's terms allow resale or transfer. The voucher must be valid for at least 20 more days when you list it. Check the expiry date, remaining value, redemption restrictions and whether the card has already been used. Kuponex does not independently verify voucher validity.
